Anna LaForest Writes: About Me

Don’t just read a book…Experience it!

I’ve spent a good portion of my life with my nose stuck in a book. In fourth grade, a classmate spotted me reading a particularly ancient one- At the Little Brown House, by Ruth Alberta Brown, published 1913- that had come from my Great Uncle Al’s basement. It was worn, musty, and a little damp when I discovered it in a forgotten box, but that didn’t stop me. My classmate said, “Anna, you’d read anything, no matter how bad it smells.” He was on to something.

Why I Write– My writing is inspired by so many things: the music I listen to, the food I eat, the movies and shows I watch, the books I read, the people around me, and my memories. Little pieces of all of these things shine through in my stories, which is where my blog posts come in. Stop by often to see how other authors incorporate all types of art into their books, and how other art has inspired my stories, creating a whole experience for readers. I hope you leave with a new recipe, book, show, movie, or song to try out!
